Thurs: NO Service

Also, morning services are cancelled if there is a funeral, or if Tallmadge schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Mothers` Blessing at All Masses May 12-13
We celebrate Mother`s Day by offering a blessing for all moms and moms to be. Fathers will be offered a blessing on Father`s Day.
ANNUAL RIGHT TO LIFE FLOWERS FOR LIFE SALE -- Finnerty Hall -- May 12-13.
Carnations at $2 each or 3/$5, and bouquets at $10 each, will be sold after all Masses. Say “Thank you for the gift of life!” to wives, moms, grandmas, godmothers, and loving friends with beautiful flowers, and support Right to Life of NE Ohio’s continuing efforts to promote the dignity of all human life from conception to natural death.
Tiffany Tilenni Memorial Pasta Dinner: 5-7:30 on Friday May 18--Finnerty Hall
Seating is limited, so please purchase tickets in advance at www.TMT518.org or by calling Tony and Linda Tilenni at 630-1181. Adults/$10, and Children 12 and under/$5. All proceeds fund a scholarship given out annually benefiting a Tallmadge High School student who will attend Kent State or Akron University.
Ministry Sunday May 19-20.
We celebrate this weekend dedicated to all who participate in one or more parish ministries. Hundreds of people of all ages give of their time and talents to carry on the work of Jesus at OLV. A blessing will be offered at all Masses. A booklet will be available listing the names of all the volunteers in so many areas of parish life. We invite even more to get involved at OLV.
Donut Sale to support the OLV Appalachian Mission trip 2012 -- Sunday May 20th.
This year the group is being formed to do manual labor to assist the poor near Fr. Beiting`s Mission Center. Our donut funds will help pay for the costs of the group.
Family Fun Day -- Sunday, May20 beginning at noon.
This time of fun and games for families returns. Simple "competitions" win many terrific prizes. Be sure to sign up to participate.
New Lector Training Wed. & Thurs. May 23 & 24.
For those in 9th grade and above who have the skills for public speaking, and the desire to serve the Lord proclaiming His Holy Word. Registrations with Georgia Hillke (686-2587) must be made by May 21.

Lent 2012 25th Annual Alms Collection. -- Final total $7160.38 -- our 2nd highest EVER!
Thanks to those who continue their generous caring, especially in these days of a poor economy and many needs. This year the money will all go to the Blessed Trinity Food Pantry.
Pray for Jim O` Brien--our 21 year-old serving a year in Appalachia.

New Athletic Director Needed:

HEAR BETTER AT MASS!
We invite more people from OLV who cannot hear well at Mass to use one of 6 wireless units we have available for use. OLV parishioners, Drs. Rich & Terry Reikowski donated the units. For free help to get started, give Dr. Rich a call at his office at 330-644-1932. Tell the secretary you are from OLV, and would like to talk to Dr. Rich. He`ll get back to you and try to arrange the easiest way for you to be helped to hear at Mass. His office hours are 7am-5pm Monday through Friday.
More About the Fr. Beiting Appalachian Mission:
In recent years, OLV parishioner Kaija Jeantet has organized several trips to Appalachia to assist the poor at this Mission. Last summer Kaija and Ellen Barber organized an Appalachian Vacation Bible School Mission and took several folks, and lots of supplies with them for the week. From Jan 15 for a year, OLV`s 21 year old Jim O`Brien will be going to this mission for a year of service. We`d like to share a family history of Fr. Beiting, with many details about this amazing priest who continues to serve the poor in Appalachia. As you read the attached link, you might skip down to the section specifically about him--Rev. Our Lady of Victory is a Catholic Christian Community that was established in Tallmadge, Ohio in 1943, and continues to grow to include over 1000 families.
